Gardening On My Mind

Introduction

My name is Jimmy F. Alger. I am 51 years old. I am married to a wonderful woman (Marianna). My daughter (Angie) had a son in September and my stepson (Richard) had a son in November. I am very excited about having 2 new grandsons. My short term goal at this point in life is to receive my degree in Aviation Maintenance Management in 3 years. My long term goal is to retire with a house on a lake with enough land that I can go fishing and hunting with my grandkids.

I enjoy gardening. Both of my grandpa's had gardens as I was growing up. I enjoy working in the garden with my wife. This is one of the times we can spend with each other. We have can grown tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower, brussels sprout, carrots, peas, onions, pole beans and wax beans just to name a few. Our garden is made up of raised beds and what I call "Bucket Farming". It's amazing to see the plants come to life and produce fruit. One of God's wonders.

One of the raised beds. Onions, broccoli and cabbage.

Just a few of the buckets with cauliflower.

Gardening can be fun and relaxing. Check out these websites to learn how you can grow your own garden.
